At American Musical Theatre Conservatory, our Company Programs provide dedicated young performers with focused training, performance opportunities, and a supportive community of artists. Each spring we hold auditions for students interested in joining our Ballet Company Program and Musical Theatre Company.
Auditions allow our faculty to evaluate each performer’s technique, focus, work ethic, and potential so we can place students in the program level that will best support their growth.
All auditions will take place at our Belmont Studio.
Location
1314 Old County Rd
Belmont, CA 94002
For students who are not currently enrolled at the studio, there is a $25 audition fee per program audition.

Ages 6-15
Auditions for Musical Theatre Company are designed to evaluate performers in the three core disciplines of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dance. The audition will take place in a supportive, class-style environment where students will participate in guided exercises led by our faculty.
During the audition, performers will learn choreography and participate in acting and vocal activities that allow our instructors to observe their performance skills, creativity, and ability to work within an ensemble.
Students will be evaluated on:
• Acting and storytelling ability
• Vocal performance and musicality
• Dance technique (jazz and tap)
• Performance quality and stage presence
• Focus and work ethic
• Ability to learn choreography
• Growth potential and leadership presence in the room
* Students are asked to bring a headshot and résumé to the audition.
* Students should come prepared to participate in a movement audition, which will include both tap and jazz combinations taught during the session.
*Please prepare 32 bars of a Broadway-style song to perform, accompanied by a backing track.
Optional: Students may also present a one-minute monologue.
These auditions will also serve as the first-round casting call for both the school’s full-length production and each Musical Theatre Company (MTC) class mini production. Callbacks will be held for specific roles in August after July Intensives.
The Musical Theatre Company is a performance and competition-based program, with select groups participating in regional and national competitions throughout the season.
For the upcoming season, MTC will be structured into three levels:
Mini (ages 5–7)
Junior (ages 8–12)
Senior (ages 12+)
If accepted students are required to take MTC and Tap and one other dance discipline such as Contemporary, Jazz or Ballet.
We look forward to working with dedicated, passionate performers who are ready to grow as artists, storytellers, and leaders through the performing arts.
